Getting To Know Mandy Snowden

Where did you grow up and how did you end up here? I grew up in north Phoenix (Moon Valley, specifically). I went to a small Christian school in western PA for college, decided I was not meant to live in a cold climate, and moved back after I graduated.

What’s your job? I´m an attorney for the state in child welfare cases.

Why are you at Roosevelt? I went to law school at ASU downtown and was looking for somewhere close by for church. Roosevelt was the closest and the first I visited, but I loved it and have been attending ever since.

How long have you been here? Four years and counting!

How long have you been a Christian? Since I was about 8. I grew up in a Christian home, but I would say that my faith really became my own in high school.

What are your hobbies? Cooking, hiking, shopping, listening to and playing music (I play the flute and the bassoon).

Name two things on your bucket list. 1) See all the major orchestras in the country and 2) Hike the Grand Canyon.

What is your favorite book? Les Miserables (Victor Hugo).

What is your favorite movie?
A lot come to mind, but I don´t really have a favorite. I do love the original Star Wars movies and animated kid movies like Finding Nemo and Wall-E.
