Before the service starts, our greeters at the main doors will point you to the kids' check-in station just to the left of where you enter. Our Children's Ministry Coordinator, Robin Menyoung, or volunteers wearing black t-shirts that say “RCC Kids” will be there to welcome and answer any questions you may have. You'll get a name tag for your child and a pick-up ticket to keep for yourself until after service.
Infants and kids who aren’t yet potty-trained can head straight to the nursery. Pre-K through 5th graders will sit with their families at the start of the service in the sanctuary and will be dismissed just before the sermon to join us in the classrooms. After the service, you’ll pick up your child from their classroom by handing the release ticket to one of our volunteers.
This class is for potty-trained kids who are ready for group activities and can follow simple directions from volunteers. Children enjoy worshiping with adults before being dismissed to their class around 10:30am for Bible stories, crafts, and snacks. Our goal is to help them begin recognizing and remembering key stories and themes from Scripture.
This class is for kids ready to engage in ongoing Bible lessons, prayer, and small group discussions. They’re beginning to think critically, memorize Scripture, and apply biblical truths to their own lives. After worshiping with adults, they’re dismissed around 10:30am to continue growing in faith and preparing for Roosevelt Student Union and future service in the sanctuary.
Our nursery is designed for infants and children who aren’t yet potty-trained. Little ones enjoy playtime, snacks, and simple creative activities while beginning to practice sitting and listening to short stories together. Doors open at 9:30am and stay open through the end of service.
This class is for kids ready to listen and engage in longer Bible lessons and prayer. After joining adults for worship, they’re dismissed around 10:30am for deeper discussions that help them grow in their faith and build a personal relationship with Jesus.
All RCC volunteers are active members of Roosevelt, carefully vetted by our leadership team, and cleared through a federal background check. Each classroom has at least two approved adults, and access to the children’s area is monitored by our security team. Many volunteers are also certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
We understand it can be hard for kids to step into a new environment without their parent or guardian. If your child needs help transitioning to class, talk with their teacher or our children’s coordinator, Robin Menyoung—we’ll do everything we can to help them feel welcomed and safe.
At RCC, we love welcoming every child. If your child has special needs we should know about, we’d love to partner with you to ensure they feel supported. Our goal is to make every classroom a safe, inclusive place where all kids can engage and thrive.
Your child is always welcome to stay with you during the service. Look for our designated family seating in the sanctuary corners—complete with coloring books, sensory toys, and more to help them stay engaged and comfortable.
